Paper Hesperildae Skipper Butterfly Patterns for Young Children to Print and Color

Hesperildae, or skippers, are (mostly) day-flying butterflies. They are called skippers because they quickly dart and skip around. There exists more than 3500 species of skippers.

Like butterflies, their antennae is nobbed at the ends but with a hook that resembles the tip of a crochet hook. When at rest, their wings can either be folded or spread, depending on the group.

Skippers have muscular wings and appear more stocky in body than most butterflies.
