The Lepidoptera family has some of the largest butterflies in the world. They are called bird wings for the way they resemble birds when they fly.

Bird wings inhabit rain forests and most are classified as endangered species, vulnerable and rare. They are large, strong flyers and love to bask in bright sunlit spots. Bird wings are brightly colored with contrasting shades of green, yellow, black, white, and occasionally blue or orange.
